At WIMBI, we are a group of individuals who believe in making quality products for quality people. We are passionate about developing avenues for people to express their love for the surf and skate industry. We love helping people express that passion on land and water. Our boards are shaped by our team members with the purpose of creating quality boards for you to enjoy.
HandCrafted Boards
All of our boards are handcrafted by our shapers in Lakeland, Fla. We shape our boards out of materials that are purchased locally and often recycled. Our team members spend countless hours picking out materials, cutting an outline of the board and then shaping it all by hand.
We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to stay eco-friendly. In order to stay environmentally friendly, we always attempt to use recycled material for repurposing. Our collection of boards range in many various shapes, sizes and styles to fit your ride preference.
Our brand
Our team members spent many years in Kenya, which inspired the name of our company and branding. WIMBI means “wave” in Swahili. The mountain from our logo is an outline of Mount Suswa. The products on our website are often infused with Kanga fabric from Kenya.
We often visited, helped with projects and built relationships with the people who lived in Mount Suswa, Kenya – a community we plan to partner with for longterm projects. Our logo is a constant reminder of the opportunity we have to partner with people and communities overseas.
Giving Back
Our mission is simple: give back to the communities that inspired us to do more. Our priority is to always put people first. In order to do so, we make sure to give a portion of our proceeds to projects in Kenya. With every purchase you make from WIMBI, ten percent of the total sale is set aside for us to give back. Our long term goal is to invest in local businesses and entrepreneurs based in Kenya.
